We invite families to partner with us and be active contributors in their child’s education. At Maarakool Primary School (formally Brabham East Primary School) we value the importance of inspiring heads, hearts, and hands, when working together to engage and develop resilient, creative, and responsible students who care for one another, care for country and who consistently strive for excellence.
As foundation principal I am honored to be again, given the opportunity to work in partnership with the community, to establish a shared vision for the school’s future. Valuing parents as partners in their child’s education, I look forward to working together to support a community of learners. A place where students, families and staff are all actively encouraged to share a lifelong passion for learning.

By recruiting passionate, engaged educators who value excellence and respect diversity, we will foster a positive and supportive school culture. These educators will work as part of a dynamic team, instilling care and high expectations in every classroom and interaction.
Our teachers will use consistent, evidence-based practices to meet students’ needs. A coaching culture will promote collective responsibility for student learning and success. Our experienced, merit-selected educators will be dedicated to continuous self-improvement and leadership development within and beyond the classroom.
Whilst Brabham is a relatively new suburb, it has a long and rich history for First Nations peoples who are one of the oldest, continuous living cultures in the world. We value the importance of working with traditional owner families and elders to identify ways to celebrate and educate about the rich cultures, histories, and languages.
With a culturally responsive community of lifelong learners, underpinned by high expectations for all, Maarakool Primary School (formally Brabham East Primary School) prioritises building productive relationships to promote individual excellence. As a community of learners, informed by evidence, high expectations will ensure success for all students within and beyond the classroom.
We use engaging, contemporary teaching approaches in an environment of trust, challenge, and respect to help every child reach their potential. Our goal is for students to have a positive school experience, achieve excellent educational outcomes, and leave with the confidence to contribute to the community.
Our school will provide a safe, respectful learning environment that supports every child’s wellbeing, helping them to connect, succeed, and thrive. We aim for the highest standards for each child, tailoring the curriculum to meet individual needs and fostering a love of learning. We encourage students to play a positive role in their communities, ensuring they feel listened to, valued, and celebrated for their achievements.
Located within the City of Swan’s Urban Growth Corridor, Maarakool Primary School (formally Brabham East Primary School) will serve 540 students with state-of-the-art facilities. It aims to relieve enrolment pressure on nearby Brabham Primary School.
The school will feature modern specialist learning areas for visual arts, performing arts, science, and technology, as well as well-resourced shared spaces such as a library, covered assembly area, oval, and hard courts. To maximise green and play spaces, the school will have two double-storey teaching blocks.
We believe all children should feel nurtured, respected, and supported to build positive relationships within a safe and caring environment. Our Early Childhood programs will support each child’s right to thrive; grow their sense of identity and connection to the world and become confident and engaged learners.
Both indoor and outdoor learning environments are carefully planned to ensure that children are provided with the opportunity to engage in stimulating, meaningful learning experiences. The principles of quality ECE will inform learning opportunities, which will include planned, purposeful play, balanced with the explicit teaching of essential foundation skills and concepts.
